On Sunday, January 31st, Marcus Goldhaber and The Jon Davis Trio will take the stage at the Meadowlands Environment Center in Lyndhurst, NJ. This will be Marcus’ New Jersey debut and he will be introducing a handful of new arrangements along with some new original tunes as well. The band (Jon Davis, piano; Martin Wind, bass; Marcello Pellitteri, drums) is the same as on his latest record, Take Me Anywhere, which received a 4-star review in PEOPLE magazine and high praise from JazzTimes. All About Jazz’s Marcia Hillman said, “Marcus comes on like a plate full of comfort food…”

NIGHTtime moves to Friday Night!

After 11 months of continued success and a growing demand, NIGHTtime will now be performed on Friday evenings with 2 sets starting at 9:30pm. The show has also been extended once again now through the end of February 2010. Each week, Marcus Goldhaber and the NIGHTtime trio bring a lively and truly entertaining evening to Jazz enthusiasts, Cabaret fans, tourists and passersby alike. The new time slot seems to be a perfect fit for the after-dinner and after-theatre crowds…SO, be sure to catch this engagement over the next 2 months and we’ll see you at the NIGHT!

This New Year’s Eve, Marcus returns to Fabio Piccolo Fiore for a special and memorable concert that is quickly becoming an annual tradition (3rd consecutive). Marcus will team up with his NIGHTtime companion, Janice Friedman (piano), and her trio.

NIGHTtime extended through the 2009 holiday season!

Currently in it’s 8th month, NIGHTtime has now been extended once again, with performances every Thursday evening throughout the 2009 holiday season. The evening features wonderful songs from the early half of the 20th century and tastefully mixes in original material written by Marcus and co-composer Jon Davis.

Marcus is joined by the lovely Janice Friedman Trio and frequently welcomes guest artists throughout the evening. The Night Hotel offers a sensual ambiance, a delicious menu (open late) and stimulating cocktails served up by master somalier, Darko.

Life in this city is often stressful and filled with deadlines…escape it all on Thursdays at the Night Hotel. In the wonderful words of Ted Koehler, “forget your troubles, c’mon get happy.”

After all, some things can only happen at Night…

Barely into his thirties, Goldhaber ranks among those precocious jazz-pop-cabaret crooners from Harry Connick Jr. to Michael Feinstein to Michael Bublé, who embraced the past (crooning and classic pop standards) while still in their twenties. His latest album, Take Me Anywhere (Fallen Apple), includes seven original songs. Not as brash as Connick or Bublé, nor as suavely sophisticated as Feinstein, Goldhaber sings with lithe swing in a intimate style akin to Chet Baker’s. Besides the weekly Night Hotel gig with Janice Friedman Trio, he can also be heard at Prohibition September 7 and 14, this time with Jon Davis Trio. GK
